Abstract

This paper presents a flexible Augmented Reality programming library and attending simple hardware configuration for general purpose (education, gaming, scientific visualization etc.). The library supports projected stereo displays, the registration is achieved using computer vision-based algorithms and passive coloured markers. All computations can be performed on a prevalent desktop PC with real-time constraints. We point out such augmented reality system is worth applying in volume rendering decreasing depth information loss and giving reason for existence of simpler methods.
