Combinatorial Maps and rapid prototyping using ThreeJS

Paul Viville

Strasbourg University

SUN 16:00 – 17:30

This workshop will introduce the participants to the fundamentals of combinatorial maps and their application in geometry and topology, using interactive tools and slides developed with the libraries ThreeJS and RevealJS. Then live coding demos will be provided starting with ThreeJS, a very practical open source Javascript library that allows its user to rapidly build browser based interactive 3D graphics. Additionally, participants will be given an introduction on how RevealJS can be used to create slides presentations including 3D scenes and executable code. This workshop aims to provide students with practical skills to help them put their ideas into application and share them easily and effectively.

Paul Viville is newly minted doctor in computer graphics, post-doc in Strasbourg University, specialized in geometric modeling and topology.
